SETOFF in securing marks (ipcc)

hey frnds...herz a question asked by a frnd of fine...i m totally puzzled by tis 1....kindly help....

he says :the subjcts for ipcc go as follows

group 1:a)accounts,b)law,c)costing and fm,d)taxation

group2:a)advance accounts,b)audit,c)it & sm

he says tat in the may'10 attempt wich he gives he is eyeing for an exemption in audit n it &sm but however if he gets d exemption n fails 2 clear group 1 then  the exemption claimed by him will it b valid for a setoff in the next attempt....plz guide  guys...

yes, he can claim such exemption in next attempt. he will only need to give the first 5 papers, i.e. leaving audit and SM-IT.

the exemption continues till subsequent 3 attempts.

yes it will be valid!!!!!!!! i dont think that there is any change in rules regarding the groups of ipcc exams

hey, but can der b a setoff i.e if the marks obtained by him 2 pass group1 is ineufficient den can the marks obtained by him in the exempted papers be eligible for setoff i.e 2 get him through group 1....

it can be so... if n only if he is attemptin for both group simultaneously
