Service tax return for july-september 2012

Is it that the period for which service tax return is to be filled has been permanently changed from 6 motnhs to 3 months or this is a temporary thing ???

No i think it is for this notification of ST-3 only, it will be same after notification.

Yes, I think this is temporary

There may be a policy where service tax returns would be made quarterly in place of half yearly.

The reason is migration of GST. Notable, excise returns are either monthly or quarterly and sales tax returns quarterly.

So, naturally Service tax returns are also thought to be made quarterly.

But this is my own vew.

Service tax returns are likely to be made quarterly. As per department circular during the budget, they are working on a simplified form of excise and service tax returns and also reduce the return period from half yearly returns to quarterly returns.

There is a buzz of making the returns monthly based on the service turnover. Plz treat the view personal.
