19 February 2012Is it necessary for a person, who just started business (providing services) to get registered for Service Tax even if his expected gross receipts during the year is less than 10Lacs?
If the answer is "No" then should he charge Service tax from his clients?

Not necessary to obtain but in some sitution for business purpose or proof of business and nature of
business there may be nessary to obtain otherewise not
And if any amount charged as service tax then he need to pay to govement as per other procedure of
payment and time limit mentioned and he wants to charge and his turnover is not expected more than 10
lacs then also he obtains and charge and pay to goverment

Regarding obtaining Service Tax No, is it mandatory ? What happens in case of manufacturing unit deducting TDS
from contractors & consultants ?
