I as a software consultant provide service to a company based in USA , and receive payments in USD . Since i do export of services , my income is non service taxable . Do i need to obtain service tax registration number in such a case ? In case if my fee exceeds 10lakhs per annum do i need to have service tax registration .

No need to apply for ST no. , bcoz onve registered you have to file NIL return.
