A company is paying Rs. 50,000 as freight. It provides other services to the tune of Rs. 5,00,000. As per Service Tax Rules the company is liable to pay tax on Rs. 50,000. But my doubt is whether the company can avail the small service provider exemption for the other services provided by it as they are below the basic exemption limit ?
In reverse charge mechanism ssi exemption is not applicable on freight charges,however you will get exemption on other services.
