I am a public health expert(medical doctor). I am joining an organization where I will be paid professional fees(consultancy). Please tell me whether I have to pay service tax on my income apart from the TDS deductions.

No, as on today Health care Services by a Clinical Establishment or Authorized Medical Practitioner or Para medics are exempt from Service Tax
