I just want to know that whether service tax is applicable on maintenace charges taken by the owner of lawn(which is given for marraige purpose and no rent is taken except nominal maintenace charges of rs.5000-10000)

Services by a person by way of-
are exempted under Not. 25/2012.
Since, you are giving the place for marriage (religious ceremony), it is exempt.

but the place which i am giving is open ground(so how it comes under religious place??)
