Only if the FIR is for taxable services provided from India and does not come within the export of services - falls into the 3 lists - location based, performance based and recepient based then only would there be a liability. Exact nature of services would be required for more clarity.

we have a business of selling jute bags outside india and the payment is received in india in dollars.......what is the rate of service tax that the bank would charge for conversion the money into rupees.

Normal ST rate is 10.3%

sir kindly check and corfirm me on this issue.....the bank is charging differently.....

In view of the new guidelines, Effective from 01.04.2011, Service Tax on Sale or Purchase of Foreign Currency will calculated and discharged as under.

1.
At the rate of 0.103 per cent of gross amount of currency exchanged for an amount upto `1,00,000, subject to the minimum of ` 26; and

2.   `103 and 0.0515 per cent of gross amount of currency exchanged for an amount of rupees exceeding `1,00,000 and upto `10,00,000; and

3. `567 and 0.0103 per cent of gross amount of currency exchanged for an amount of rupees exceeding `10, 00,000, subject to the maximum amount of ` 5150.

will pvt ltd companies incorporated in India have to pay service tax for inward remittance of foregn currency (USD) by wire transfer, against website advertisement and email marketing/advertisement?

I have heard that inward remittance of foregn currency is exempted from ST.... pls help
