Service tax on ca memebrship fee

I had attended a few seminars on service tax. On the same matter, there was a heated discussion. Although nothing fruitful came out, it was hitherto concluded that as of now the membership fees, cpe seminar fees shall not be taxable. 

Imagine paying 150 + 12.36% = 168.54 for a seminar. Also the membership fees = 898.88/-.

I dont think it would attract service tax.

But a clarification in this regard is awaited.
