Service tax on bpo service
Hello,
We are engaged in providing the Accounting back office work to the overseas clients. (client located outside india) maintaining and updating the client accounts and transferring the data through internet . We would like to know whether service tax is applicable in the given situation.

Back office support services would be covered under the default rule 3 of POPS. The place of service is deemed to be where the recepeint of the service is located. In your case since he is outside India- service is outside India and not liable to ST in India.
