I had bought a under-construction flat in Jan 2010 and made a down payment, the registration was done in April 2010.
The builder is asking for service tax before possesion for the entire amount.
1. Is service tax applicable only for under construction property registrations done after July 2010?
2. If service tax is applicable, is it applicable for entire cost of flat or only for payments made after July 2010?
