We are trying to do online service tax remittance for the first time. we have registered the basic service tax code from the list. But we are unable to find the code for cess and higher education cess which is 00440298. How do we go about choosing the same. Can anybody help?
We are using SBM to remit.
in e- payment, no need of giving break-up.
Select your service type and make the payment.
for return purpose, you may calculate with break-up and file
Search man search. It should be available. See whether it is under Primay Education Cess and Secondary Education Cess. @ Nagesh, Specific Head for cess has ben given so that the amount collected is allocated for education. If you not paying as per specifed head, how can u show in the ST3 return? I can't understand.

I got it and I agree that it is mandatory to show the break up. It is available under 'Primary Education Cess' and 'Secondary and Higher Education Cess'. We have found and remitted already.
