Service tax due date

25 OCT FOR SEP

25th Oct is the last date for filing of service tax return for the period Apr'11-Sept'11.

We cant tell about this right now. we have to wait for some official announcement but as e-payment is mandatory from now on there should not be much problem if there is no bank holiday

E-payment is mandatory only for assesses who has paid service tax in excess of Rs 10 lacs in previous financial year.

It is to be deposited by the 5^th  day of the month following the month or quarter for which service tax is paid. However, for the month/quarter ending March, the payment is required to be made by the 31^st March itself by all taxpayers

HI .......I TELL YOU FOR RETURN ,FOR PAYMENT DEPSIT DATE IS 5 OCT BUT DUE TO PUBLIC HOLIDAY IS 6 OCT.

See recent notification of Service Tax dept. Epayment of service tax and efilling is mandatory from 1st october for all the assesses.

I think its notification no. 43/2011

Notification no 43/2011 dated 25.08.2011 states " Every assessee shall submit the half-yearly return electronically”.

As per notification no 43/2011 it is mandatory to e-file service tax return but nowhere it is stated that payment  has to be made electronically.

yes nirav you are right. I was mistaken. that notification is only about e-filling of service tax return

@ Nirav .Read Notification carefully amended and proviso is deleted now and den interprete it.

If the last date for paying tax is a public holiday, tax may be paid on the next working day - Circular 63/12/2003 dated 14/10/2003.

The State Government of West Bengal has decided to declare 5th October and 6th October to be Public Holiday during the year 2011 under N.I. Act..
