Credit can only be taken if input service is use and utilsed in providing output service. It appears that you have been registered only for making payment of Service tax,as such credit is not available to you.

Yeh the answer is correct!
Yess.. absolutely correct.no input credit for services is allowed for the output not used in rendering services.
credit can be taken as activity of audit is specifically mentioned in the definition of input service
Credit can be taken against Excise Duty liability of the co. if any.

above answer is correct

1) Credit can be Availed but can be Utilized only against any Output Service or against Excise Duty payable for manufacturing activity, if any.

2) Credit cannot be utilized for making payment of service tax on reverse charge basis. If service recipient is liable to pay tax under N/N-30/2012, then tax must be paid in cash though GAR-7 Challan.
