Senior citizen tax saving schemes

Sir I am an retired employee and has been invested a sum of Rs 1,50,000/-in senior citizen tax saving schemes per annum under section 80C (2)(xxiii) to take the rebate under section 80C for the since my retirement. Sir now I want to know that the intt accrued or deposit on the above said investment i.e Senior citizen tax saving schemes, the said intt is fully exempt from income tax Thanks.
