I am Government employee.
our office have deducted advance tax from my salary about 10000.
When I have tried to file ITR-1 on 23th June....
It was showing that I need to pay more Rs.170 as per my total income.
So I have paid Self Assessment Tax Rs.170 online same day and filed ITR-1
but in that form it was showing Rs.170 Remain to pay. I have paid it but it was not appear that day on income tax site....
Now in status its showing that I have paid but in my ITR-1 it's not showing....
I need to file revised form or I don't need to do it

Thanks

Dear Rajubhai,

I suppose you have not updated the Self Assessment Tax details in the ITR already filed. You will not be allowed any credit for the taxes you have not claimed in the ITR. There are two options available for you-

a. File revised return including the details of the self assessment tax paid by you. (easiest way)

b. Wait for the return to be processed and intimation u/s 143(1). In reply to the intimation, file an online rectification application u/s 154 selecting the option- 'tax already paid' and provide the details of challan in the appropriate place (little bit cumbersome).

Hope you found the above useful.

you have to entered bsr code , challan no and date in itr after you have to create X M L. no error will be found.

I think while filing online ITR you had not updated the challan details of self-assessment tax paid.

Check it from your ITR form pdf. And if it is missing then file your revised ITR. Else wait for 143(1) and then you have the option of rectification u/s 154.
