Self assesment tax for financial year 2017-18

147 views 1 replies

Respected Members,

I am working for a small company where accountant missed to deduct my TDS for Feb, and March months of financial year 2017-18 and the amount to be deducted has been payed in the salary (Even I did not pay attention on the difference in my monthly salary). Now he said you can pay to the tax department by yourself.

I have read some questions in this forum and found, I should use (300) Self Assesment Tax option to pay the tax. Here my question is, Can I pay the self assesment tax in two terms (some now and some in next month before filing returns) OR all the amount should be paid once for a financial year?

Thanks

You can even pay in two/three installments, but generally it is paid at the time of filling return (i.e. once). In case amount is more, earlier paid, lesser the interest charged.
