Is investment in NTPC Bond exempt or eligible for Exemption U/s 54 EC please repl soon...thank you

There are only two bonds available u/s 54EC. National Highway and Rural Electrification. Interest earned on both are taxable. Investing in these bonds will save capital gain tax.
Investment in NTPC bonds is not for availing exemption u/s 54EC, however, I think interest earned on it is tax-free.
