For a Freelancer providing IT Services through Upwork and filing ITR-4, is Section 44AD or 44ADA applicable?
More importantly, what can I do if I've already filed ITR-4 under 44AD last year? Do I have to do the same this year too, or I can change it from now onwards?
Hello Prashant I am not a Tax expert but I dont think 44AD is applicable for Information Technology Services. You could have gone for 44ADA that too under NOB 0607 Professionals [Others]. Changing ITR may invite notice from ITO.

Thanks for the reply, Ranjit. Actually, in 44AD, there is the NOB code called "IT Enabled Services" (0709) which is applicable for Information Technology Services. If 44AD isn't for IT Professionals, then I'm wondering what this business code is for. Waiting for the experts to reply.
