Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies doubts regarding Section 44AD of the Income Tax Act. It explains that if your net profit is declared as zero, or less than the prescribed percentage of your turnover (6% for most professions, 8% for others), a tax audit will likely apply. However, an exception exists if your total income remains below the maximum amount chargeable to tax.

Net profit 0 means if it is less than 6% of turnover provisions of tax audit will apply.
GROSS RECEIPTS OR TURNOVER IS THE CRITERIA
If you declare profit of less than 8% or 6% of your turnover then tax audit will be applicable.

Exception.....

Audit will not be applicable if total income is below maximum chargeable to tax !!!
