Sec 80DDB document submission on the new site?

ITR 225 views 1 replies

Hi,

My query is with regards to Section 80DDB that allows upto Rs. 1 lac deduction for Senior Citizens suffering from & taking treatment for specified critical diseases. I am reading online that according to new rules no prescripttion or Form 10-I needs to be submitted.

Kindly tell me if the new IT website asks for these document & if so how to submit them? If it does not ask for them then what is the way to submit them? Or do we just keep them filed in case the IT department asks for them at a later stage before approving the ITR.

Your valuable input is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi!

The certificate is needed when the Department asks, not while filing the return. To be on the safer side you can get a a certificate from the doctor as specified in the act and keep it for the year
