hi

Scrap is residue from manufacturing operations that has relatively minor recovery value. In accounting for scrap, the sales value of scrap is treated as an offset to factory overhead.

However, in some job order situations, the sales value of scrap is credited to the particular job that produced the scrap.

Normally Sale of Scrap will be treated as Misc. Income in Manufacturing Companies.
