Schedule TDS2 in TDS sheet of ITR2 Form

In Schedule TDS2 in TDS sheet of ITR2 Form, there are two columns 6 and 7 at extreme right - "Total Tax Deducted" and "Amount out of (6) claimed for this year". Can somebody explain the use of this last column 7. Is it meant for cases where we want to take claim of lesser amount than the TDS deducted. And on what basis we can determine this amount vis a vis the TDS amount.

not sure...coz no where explanation is given in instructions to ITR 2...

But according to my understanding.. this is could be because of the income shown...

Eg.: If the TDS deductor is maintaining accounts on accrual basis and decutee on cash basis then decutor may hav booked expenses on accrual basis whereas the other party will book its income on receipt basis (in next yr.) then, as TDS certificate will show higher income but the deductee will be showing less one. So to support that the deductee has the option to claim only that much of TDS corresponding to which it is showing income in the ITR....

Hope i am right in my logic...
