Schedule 6 on electricity companies??

not applicable... in case question ask to prepare final a/c of elect co as per sch6 only then prepare as per sch6 for sake of marks only...

As per Sec.211 of Companies Act, Banking, Electricity & Insurance Company will prepare his A/C's  by prescribed format which is given in Banking, Elect. & Insurance Act.

Schedule VI is applicable only on Other Co.(Except these 3 Co.)

Conclusion :

Revised Schedule VI not applicaple on Electricity Company.

(a) insurance company
(b) banking company or
(c) any company engaged in generation or supply of electricity∗ or
(d) any other class of company for which a Form of balance sheet or Profit and loss
account has been prescribed under the Act governing such class of company
Respective Acts may be applicable

∗ The Electricity Act, 2003 does not specify any format for presentation of Financial Statements. Therefore, Schedule VI of the Companies Act, 1956 is followed by Electricity Companies in preparation of their financial statements.

I short It not necessary for electricity company to prepare balance sheet as schedule VI

Ist of all thnx 4 rpls...But r u guys kidding me...i completed my whole chptr according to sir parveen sharma's old classes..bt now when i saw RTP, RVZ SCH 6 IS APPLIED :( now i jst want  knw if que dsnt specify it,thn wt shud i follow??--- rtp or ur above ans?? plz

I think u should follow the RTP. The same has been followed in the study material also. 

Revised Schedule 6 is applicable to Electricity Distribution its nt applicable to electricity Generation co

As such, u/s 211(1) & (2), Schedule VI(R) is Not applicable to any Insurance/Banking/Electricity Companies... However, for Companies engaged in the generation and supply of Electricity, there is no prescribed format for presentation of Financial Statements, either in the Electricity Act, 2003, or the Rules framed thereunder.. Sec. 616(c) states that the Companies Act will apply to Elect Companies, to the extent it is not contrary to the requirements of the Electricity Act. Conclusion-->> Schedule VI(R) may be followed by Electricity Companies till the time any other format is prescribed by the relevant statute.. For Nov. 12 Exam-->> Follow RTP....Adv Acc me ek ques h elect co ka ....jo ICAI ne New format i.e. Schedule VI(R) se solve kiya h....so follow RTP.... wish u ol d best:-) Thanks & Regards Vipul Jain
