Ø During the year 1990, there was great water paucity in Ananthapur district. Wells, tanks, etc dried up.

Ø Ladies and kids have to walk hours to bring the water to their daily basis necessities. Because of bringing water, children’s were not able to attend the schools.

Ø Anathapur district can be compared to desert.

Ø Sai baba requested to the government to look in to the water problem of anathapur. Even after waited for 6 months, there was no action being taken by the government.

Ø Babas have taken self initiative in this regard, and he is declared that within one year the water problem of Anathapur will be solved.

Ø If government have taken this project, it will take years to complete since it is a water project for 10 lakh people.

Ø The project is known as satya sai water project and the cost of project was 315 crore. The investment to the project will be donation from the devotee and baba instructed to participate in the project.

Ø People and donation was accumulated just like an ocean.

Ø Pipe was laid down around 2500 km and among 800 village of Anathapur districts.

Ø Thus the water paucity and problems were solved.

Ø Next year, baba has initiated the similar project in Medak. It is a project  for 179 village and 6 lakh people.

Ø After that in mehaboob nagar town, there is a similar water project which is meant for 141 village and 4.5 lakh people.

Ø In Chennai, There was a project from pumping the water from River Krishna through canals. Due to water leakage and dredging of canals the project was failed. In that time, baba intervened and renovated the canals and filled rectified the leakages.
