Business Verticals in GST A business vertical refers to a separate unit or division within a larger organization that operates independently, providing distinct goods or services.
Important Conditions for Business Verticals The following conditions must be met for a business vertical to be considered a separate entity for GST purposes:
1. _Distinct business activities_: Each business vertical must engage in distinct business activities, such as manufacturing, trading, or providing services. (Section 2(18) of the CGST Act, 2017)
2. _Separate accounting and records_: Each business vertical must maintain separate accounts and records for GST purposes. (Rule 8 of the CGST Rules, 2017)
