he has to file revised return to claim refund of Rs.2000/-  if he has paid the entire Rs.80000/- as demanded by the Co.

If the TDS has been deposited by the deducter then only remedy lies with the deductee to claim the Tax credit in his total income.

Agree with this Reply......

In this this case the company has deducted Rs. 2000/- abd paid balance to the employee and further the company must have deposit the tds with department to the credit of the employee and the tds certificate for the same must have been issued to  the employee.

Now as the agreed he has left the job before the agreed period of one year than Rs.80,000/- be refunded to the company. And with regard to Rs.2,000/- the itr for the previous year be revised, if already filed and 2000/- should be claimed as refund. in this case as Rs.80,000/- will not be shown as reciept than the employee may recieve the query from the dept. But there is no need to worry as the same can be explained if there is any query.
