Quick Summary
When there's a difference between your Form 16 (salary statement from employer) and Form 26AS (TDS/TCS statement), Form 16 is generally considered dominant for calculating correct salary. However, ideally, both documents should match perfectly. If discrepancies persist, reconciling with your bank statement is advised. Employers must ensure consistency between the figures provided in both forms.

Form 16 is the statement of salary prepared by your employer whereas 26as is the statement of tds and tcs return
Form 16 id dominant for consideration of calculating correct salary
Both Need to MATCH. No discrepancy is permitted.
Both are necessary for or say important
but if difference is coming then consider the salary as per bank statement reconciliation
Employer can not mention two different figures one in 26AS and another in Form 16. No. such differential statements certificate is allowed.
I think form 26aS
26As is not always correct
so certified bank statement with signature are allowed Even AO approved it
Agree with ayusmita
Form 16 summary of all employees. From summary only, 26AS is prepared and uploaded.
Ask your employer to match both. Unless it matches with 26AS, AO will consider 26AS figure only.

Form 16 is more trusted

AO approved certified statement also if 26as is wrong
