Answer = d (1:2)

but how???? Can u post the calculation??

Dear Jim Just apply the formula of Old ratio (-) new ratio Ok......

AS PER MY KNOWLEDGE THERE IS 1 THUMB RULE -

WHEN BOTH OLD & NEW RATIOS ARE GIVEN, OLD RATIO IS SACRIFICE RATIO ALWAYS.

Sacrificing Ratio = Old ratio-New Ratio

A: - 1/3-1/6 = 1/6

B:-2/3-2/6= 2/6

ANS : 1:2 (D).

Agree with Ravi Shankar

Ravi shankar is right.

Yes I did the same procedure applied by Ravi Shankar

answer is (D) - 1:2

Thanks to all FUTURE CA :)

The answer is 1:2

ANS IS 1:2
