Revised return of year 07-08 onwards

Sir,

In a company, return on contractor has been filed in year 07-08,08-09 in which one contractor has not given his pan no.So even TDs has been paid & retrun has been filed by the company, the contractor could not got get credit of tds amount n income tax authority has given him notice and the contractor is asking the same to company.Pls tell the remedy.

Can u please re state ur situation ?

I guess the situation is that Co. deducted tax from contractor but did not quote the PAN of contractor and thus , the contractor could not claim the cr.

then, its the liability of the company to provide Cr. to the contractor. the co. should deposit that TDS so that Contractor can claim the cr.

First thnks for response!,

The TDs has been paid to Income tax and retun also filed. Only thing is that In return the pan no of that contractor was not mentioned.

In my opinion, u should go to TDS revised return option by quoting PAN becoz in your case ,TDS return can be revised even after income tax return i.e no impact on income tax return
