Dear Sir,

Hereby I would like to inform you that we have received a notice regarding short deduction from the Income tax department. After verification we have paid the short deducted amount along with interest and added the challan through online correction. But the demand is not yet vacate by the CPC (Traces).

Kindly suggest how to make entry in Annexure I and Annuxure II to vacate the demand.

We forward for your kind suggestion and would be very grateful to you if you kindly do the needful at the eariest.

Please note the following points

Payment for short deduction should be made- then added in the challan through online correction- then again give conso file request

Then go to C3 correction (Modify deductee). Select the deductee to whom there was short deduction. reduce the gross amount based on the tds rate applicable.

And then in the new challan, add the same deductee with the balance gross amount and TDS amount that you have paid now

Your problem would be solved by doing this.

You just hav to reduce the gross amount in the first transaction. And add that amount in the new transaction along with the tds amount

After addition of challans to the statement, add the PAN for which short deduction occurs.
After that select an option to pay interest & penalty.
Definitely demand will be zero.
