we are a pvt ltd company, providing security services & manpower supply. we need know whether the reverse charges mechanisam is applicable to us when we provide services to a Pvt ltd or Ltd company.

No. since you are a pvt ltd co, entire service tax has to be paid by you, but you can claim from the recipient.
