Resturcturing of Bank Credit

Last year RBI came out with a scheme for restructuring of advances under MSE, which had to suffer in revenue due to global slowdown.

Can you provide bank wise and scheme wise (say MSE and Non-MSE) number of accounts and amount, which were restructured to save them from slipping into NPA category?

This information may relate to as on 31.03.09 pre audit and post audit keeping in view figure given by each bank to Ministry of Finance. This will enable us to find out whether the statutory auditors have certified restructuring of all accounts which were announced, actually restructured and then truely certified or objected by audit teams appointed by RBI

Whether CA has been able to ascertain the number of accounts and amounts which were wrongly restructured by banks to hide NPA. Whether only MSE standard accounts have only been restructured or all general accounts which were irregular for years together have also been restructured to conceal irregualr accounts and to avoid provisioning on such bad accounts

Dear Mr. Babu,

No threshold limit for cash sales. However if any person is paying or making payment for any expenditure during a day above Rs. 20 k then it must be by account payee cheque doing otherwise shall make such expenses inadmisible for computing profit from business or profession. Section 40A(3) read with rule 6DD.

It is to be noted that purchase of goods or services will be considered as expenses and above treatment shall be done

To conclude, buyer need to make sure about the payment by way cash not to exceed Rs. 20k
