Hai Friend,

I am working abroad during last 2 and half years. wants to return back india. I am planning to return back on november 2010. whether my salary from abroad till nov 2010 is taxable. I want to clarify abt exemption provision of section 6, whether it applicable only in the year of leaving from India or it applicable for the year of return back to India also.

Hai friend,

3' sept, 07 I left india. and want to return back on 30'th nov,2010

Hello Sir,

Ur status for PY 2010-11 shall be of "Resident & ordinarily resident"

Hence global income shall be taxable.

Relief u/s 91 can be claimed in respect of taxes paid on the income earned in the foreign country otherwise the same should be exempt under respective DTAA.
