Requirement for cpt paper

CPT 1089 views 3 replies

Well i have just started preparation for CPT.

I am yet not sure whether ill be able to sit for december paper or not.I did paid the fees online before october start. But due to some commitment i wasnt able to submit the form.I went today saturday and the institute was of.Also none of their landlines are working because of some heavy rains.

May be it will be clear on monday whether ill be able to sit or not. Anyways. As i am from engineering background and as i hardly know anyone preparing for papers personally.

I dont know what stuffs i need to take care at the time of paper. In sense

1::What type of calcis are allowed.

2::Do they personally check during papers about same .Also whether caclcis allowed or not?

3::WHether i have to bring log book personally.Or it will be supplied during papers.

4::Similarly tables will be supplied for poison distribution and binomial distribution or that also i have to bring personally.

5::For paper pencil mode what are the requriements etc etc. I am totally dependent on caclubinia for my papers. Also should i buy some textbook from market for cpt.Or all paper question comes from Cpt study material supplied by the institute. Or some out of box questions too come for the test.

1. Other than scientific calculators, all other types are allowed.

2. They usually don't specially check each one. But when you are using the scientific calculator, then you will not be allowed to write the exam and it is violation of exam rule. Go through the exam guidelines once.

3. Log books if requested will be given by examiners. Mostly, institute itself will give the sufficient information in question paper itself.

4. Same as above. In my view, no need to carry.

5. Questions may come from any book within the cpt syllabus. There is no guarantee to say that all questions will come from cpt institute material itself. So learn the concepts first. Out of box questions may also come but very few in number.

All the best.

Thanks krishna for the reply. Yes i am concentrating on concept rather than question past question papers. I know if my concept is clear than i can surly answer all. Being a graduate from engineering background i am targeting to reply to all question (i know negative marking is there). But after all its the basic knowledge of what i have learned so far in life.I'll be targeting for 150 marks. Now only doubt is there some other reference material apart form ICAI which i should go through before preparing. I am worried about economics and mercantile law as these are the only material on which i never came across in my life.

If you are not sure in those subjects then you may purchase Tulsian Book. Or even you can use 'google books' website and search for cpt law or cpt economics, which you can refer the books of some pages for free. It definitely helps you. Utilise that site.
