Hello to all experts

Dear experts

It was almost two months ago, I have resigned from a company based in Mumbai, in which I was working as Senior Accounts Executive. Since then I am not working anywhere. Now I am thinking to open my own C.A. Office. So I want your suggestions how can I proceed for such initiation.

Also note that presently I am member in CIRC, and want to switch to WIRC, so I also want the procedure of switch over.

In short following details required from all experts

1- Form No. for which application to be made for COP.

2- Is approval for firm name is also required or COP is enough ?

Kindly guide me in very expert manner.

Thanks in advance

1. A member can apply in Form-6 for grant of CoP.
.
2. A member holding CoP, can practice in his own name. He may/may not apply for a firm name.
.
[But it is preferable to register a firm name even if a member is practicing as a proprietor. Because in future, if you add a member as a partner, then you can retain the seniority (i.e. date of establishment) of your practice with the same firm name for partnership also.]

Answer to Q1:

Yes you got to download Form 6 from https://icai.org/new_post.H T M L?post_id=1564&c_id=89

Answer to Q2:

Prerogative is yours, whether you want to apply for trade name for Pracising or You wish to continue without applying for Trade Name.

Thank you experts for your reply

also wanted to know where to submit form 6 and in whose name Rs. 2000 Demand Draft for COP made. Please note that I am registered as a member in CIRC.

AWAITING FOR YOUR EXPERT ANSWER.
