Hi friends,
A salaried client has received a notice from th IT dept for verification of HRA claim. She claimed HRA from her employer while the TDS deducted is done against her husband's TAN. He has not claimed exemption in his return. The IT email asks to verify this and efile revised return if required. Since no revised return needs to be filed, how do I address this with the dept. On the portal it does not show under any proceedings that can be replied to. Please help on how to resolve this. Is any reply required? What is the recommended way forward.
