in case of a pvt. co. : 3 directors : if one is appointed as MD and 1 as ceo on a salary approved at BM : if ther salary is revised every year do we need to pass resolution in BM or a general resolution authorising MD can be passed

As per my suggestion simply pass a board resolution and avoid general authority resolution.

Yes you can pass such resolution authorizing MD. But CEO cum director can not participate in this meeting read with section 299 and 300.
