This discussion clarifies the terms remuneration, salary, and wages. While often used interchangeably, remuneration typically refers to payments made to partners, directors, or owners for their services. Salary is generally for employees, and wages are for labourers. The key difference lies in who is receiving the payment and their role within the organisation.
As per my view, Salary in common parlance means any amount paid by an employer to his employees in lieu of services rendered by them.
whereas remuneration is generally taken by partner or director /promoter/owner ect. from the Partnership firm and company respectively, for the services rendered by them to the firm/company ect.
Some time salary or remuneration can be used interchangeably.
And wages is taken by workers for woking in a company/firm as a labour.
So, in common parlance, if Amount taken for service rendered by owners/partner is considered as remuneration, salary taken by middle level employees and wage taken by low level labour staff.
