Removal of director

In a private limited only two directors who are also shareholders (99% and 1%) . The 99% director wants to remove 1% director. How to remove and appoint someone on his behalf. What is the procedure?

First appoint new one and then remove old one
In
Private limited companies, appointment and removal of directors shall be regulated by the Companies Act, 2013 as well its own Articles of Associations.

Private limited companies enjoys lot of exemptions from general provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 subject to alternate/ supplementary/ complementary provision in its Articles.

Where articles of association of such private limited company has power to remove with Board may remove one or more of its directors.

However, one director singly cannot remove another director.
section 169 has to be followed ,
Thank you for your positive reply. But the thing is that 1% director is turning out to be rebellious
