We are a small software service provider making websites.
This year our domestic turnover (within India) for current financial year till Dec 2014 is 8 Lacs and international (export) is 2 Lacs.
1) Do we have to get ourselves registered with service tax?
2) Is service tax to be levied in excess of exemption limit of 10 lacs or the whole of the domestic turnover?
Its Compulsory applying for registraion if your turnover cross limit from 9 lacs
so u can get registration no.
u can file/pay service tax after 10 lacs
Since your taxable turnover till dec is 8 lac so not require to regster youself.
If your domestic turnover is crossing to 9 lac in FY 2014-15 then, you have to register yourself. and after crossing the domestic turnover to 10 lac, then you have to pay the service tax on above 10 lac in case of domestic turonver only since export of services are exempt from service tax.
