Sir I am a small business man and due to some unavoidable reason I have not filled my gst return,now the portal had been shown late fee.Sir I want to know that the govt of India waive off this late fee.Thanks
Wait for the next GST council meeting, which is likely to be held on June 2nd week. The council likely to discuss on the waiver of late fees from August 2017 to January 2020 returns. For GST related updates follow @ gstgist on Instagram. Latest amendments are explained in Lucid manner.
The CBIC via Press Note issued on 01.06.2020 has assured the taxpayers that the Issue of GST LATE FEES for the past period (August 2017 to January 2020) will be discussed in the next GST Council meeting.
The 40th GST Council Meeting is scheduled to be held on the second week of June 2020 ( probably on 14th June 2020. )
Therefore wait till the 40th GST Council Meeting for the official decision.
