Regarding sole properiotorship registration for sale/service

Dear Sir, I am from Mumbai and planning to start new business for Online sales & Taxi services (both). I am living in a rented apartment since 2013 and thinking to use the same for Registration purpose (no shop planned), rent agreement available. Kindly guide me for the following: 1. What type of Registration will be required and whom to contact for the same? 2. Is by giving Rent agreement, the registration process can be completed, or any additional details will be required. 3. I am presently in a job right now. Can both business & job run simultaneously as per legal terms. 4. If not, can I open the business in my wife's name. Request for early feedback. PS

Hi.,

Yes. u can use ur apartment for ur sole proprietorship business if u have "Rental Agreement & NOC from the Land Lord". Job and Business is different, u run ur business along with ur JOB that is not a problem at all. u can run ur business on ur name.

"As a sole proprietor, main objective of the firm is opening a current bank account on the name of business. so basically most of the banks ask for any legal certification for the business.
a) Service Based Business - These type Business are providing services Online and Offline to users. Example are - Website Development/Digital Marketing/Consulting/ECommerce Marketplace/Marketplace Business Models/Tickets and Hotel Bookings/Classifieds Websites.
        1.Service Tax Registration Certification( ST registration required if the turnover crosses 10 lacs)

        2.Chartered Accountant Certification regarding nature of business

Documents Required for registration as Proprietorship Firm :-

  • ID and Address Proof as Pan Card/Passport/Voter ID/Aadhar Card/Driving License Copy of the Proprietor.
  • One Business Place Address proof :- 
  1. if Property on Rented :- Need Rent Agreement and NOC from Landlord.
  2. if Property is own :- Need Electricity Bills or any other Address Proof.

Note : Proprietor Business place and home place can be same

 

VAT Registration is State wise so its very state to state.

  • For VAT : - Needed Security Amount as Fixed Deposit or needed minimum two  surety of dealer which already registered in that state VAT Registration.

ST registration required if the turnover crosses 10 lacs

It’s better to meet Chartered Accountant for registration procedures and all."
