What is the economic life of semi conductor

There is no universal economic life for a semiconductor. It is a trade-off:

  • Consumer chips are built for short, high-intensity cycles (3–5 years).

  • Industrial/Automotive chips are built for long-term durability (10–20+ years).

  • Market relevance often dictates a much shorter life than physical durability, especially in fast-moving fields like AI.
