Quick Summary
To receive a dividend from a company, you need to own shares on the 'record date'. This is the date the company checks its records to see who is eligible for the dividend payment. Buying shares before the book closure period, which is when share transfers aren't registered, is generally advisable to ensure you are on the record.

There is no fixed date

per my opinion

before book closure period

i.e. period when transfer of shares are not registered.

as per my openion you are elegiable for dividend if you holding shares on the record date.
