Can a person act as a director as well and Company secretary at a time?
Is it permitted under company law, if it is private company having less than Rs 5 crores paid up capital?
Please clarify my doubt?

A wholetime company secreatry can act as a non executive director in any of the company.it is not prohibitted under the companies act 1956

ANY ONE CAN BECOME A DIRECTOR OF A PRIVATE LTD. PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANY OR ITS SUBSIDIARY PROVIDED HE IS NOT DISQUALIFIED UNDER SEC.274 OF THE COMPANIES ACT, 1956.
THE LIMITAION OF 15 COMPANIES DIRECTORSHIP SHOULD NOT BE BREACHED .

A Full Time Company Secretary may be non executive director in the company but in addition to the minimum number of directors required ie 2 in pvt co and 3 in public co.
