Reg. operating from other state (e-commerce)

Hi,

I'm from Uttarakhand and have started a sole proprietor firm for stationery products. I have obtained the VAT number for Uttarakhand.  I do not have any shop or retail establishment, I'm only operating via online/e-commerce marketplaces, like flipkart, snapdeal etc. and I do not want to open any retail shop for the next year or so.

Now, most of the manufacturing of my products is done is Delhi state, so I was thinking about shipping the products to the customer (whenever there is an order via flipkart or snapdeal) from Delhi itself. So do I need any registration for that as well or I can send the products to the end customed by using my Uttarakhand VAT no.??

Thanks and Regards

you can use your uttrakhand TIN for transaction in delhi...

the only difference will be that transaction in delhi would amount to central transaction.

Thanks for the reply. I just want to get clear on one thing.... "Can I use my Uttarakhand VAT/TIN no. to sell via online portals in Delhi or I have to register my firm in Delhi as well??"

you can use your tin no. of uttrakhand to sell in delhi. but first ensure that you have both local and central tin no. of uttrakhand.

Hi,

I'm still not clear on this whole discussion.

I know that I can sell my products in B2B but I want to sell them as B2C.

I have both VAT/TIN and CST no. of Uttarakhand, and my question is that do I have to get new VAT no. to operate my firm from Delhi or not? As I want to dispatch goods to the end customers from Delhi and my registered office is in Uttarakhand.

Thank you

It not mandatory that you are required to get TIN No. of delhi. But you have to add branch of delhi in your Uttrakhand Sale Tax documents. so that you can dispatch good from delhi branch..!! Other alternate:- You can get Delhi VAT Tin.
