WHAT IS REFUND,REBATE AND RELIEF?THEIR IMPLICATIONS

Refund means the tax already paid by the taxpayer will be returned to him/her.
Rebate refers to some reduction in total tax payable e.g rebate under section 87A
Relief is given to reduce the tax burden in order to avoid undue hardship to the taxpayer e.g relief in case of double taxation
u didnt tell me the difference between relief and rebate....? Is the answer will remain same in case of IDT ALSO....
