Refund of income tax paid, when no return was filed in any previous year

My father retired around 8 years ago.

He doesn't have any financial knowledge. During his service his Income tax payment, return filing etc was all done from office.

Since his retirement, his only source of Income is 'Interest from bank deposits' .

TDS is being deducted every year since retirement. Since my father didn't know how to file returns etc. He didn't claim any Refunds.

Is it possible to claim refund of TDS deducted of past few years (since his retirement) ? He didn't file any return since retirement.

For AY 2018-2019 I managed to file belated return and got the refund of PY 2017-2018.

You can manually apply for condonation of delay in filling return u/s. 119(2)(b) of IT act, for last six years; at  Jurisdictional ITO/JCIT office, along with financial statements and the amount of refund due. If approved, you can file return online and claim refund.
