Refund of deceased assesse

Hi All,

This is regarding filing of ITR of a deceased assesse.
We have taken the approval from deptt of legal heir for filing the return as representative assesse.

Problem is there is a refund of the deceased person and all the bank accounts of the deceased have been closed.

The bank details of the representative assesse are not coming in the deceased ITR efiling.

However IT deptt asked for the bank details of the representative at the time of taking approval as representative.

How to file the return of deceased as no pre validated bank account is available for refund processing.

Kindly suggest!!

regards

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses the challenge of processing tax refunds for a deceased individual when their bank accounts are closed. The representative assessee's bank details are not appearing correctly on the deceased's ITR filing, and attempts to add a new, unvalidated account for the refund have been rejected. The core issue is the requirement for a pre-validated bank account for refund processing, and advice is sought on how to proceed when the deceased's original accounts are no longer available.

Add the new account to the profile. No need to validate immediately.

Refund will be processed if the same account specified in ITR.

Sir
I added a new account of the representative assess.
The account was not validated and rejected.

For refund, it asking for at least one pre validated account.

What to do?

Why it is getting rejected?

If you have recently got permission as representative assessee, file complaint under 'Grievances' for the error.
